2021 MotoGP Team Preview: Aprilia Racing Team Gresini

The 2021 season will be Aprilia’s seventh as a manufacturer since its return and its last with Gresini Racing, which will return to being an independent team again in 2022.The Italian team has unveiled the new weapon from Noale – a revamped RS-GP for the 2021 season. With sincere and emotional thoughts for Fausto Gresini, who had been part of this project since its debut in 2015. Fausto Gresini, a two-time World Champion in the 125cc class and a key figure in the paddock as the founder of the Gresini Team thereafter, lost his life to Covid-19.Lorenzo Savadori, best known for his time in World Superbikes and being Italian Superbike champion last year, made his MotoGP debut late last year, contesting three races.  Although his debut ended in disappointment though as he retired from the European GP last year, he held onto the seat for the final two races of the season. The late Gresini was his manager.Aprilia finished last in the 2020 constructors’ table, with Espargaro taking its best result of eighth in Portugal to end the campaign 17th in the riders’ standings. Despite being a consistent Top 10 challenger in 2020, Espargaro finished 17th overall in the Championship. He continues with Aprilia for 2021.
